BASAJAUN’s 5 policy recommendation upon successful completion of the project.
The BASAJAUN project, focusing on sustainable wood construction for rural development and urban transformation, was recently finalized. Between 2019 and 2024, BASAJAUN was implemented through a consortium of 31 organizations in 12 countries, with a total budget of €12 million financed by the European Commission. The project was coordinated by Tecnalia in Spain.
Upon successful completion of the project, five principal recommendations for the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025 and the preparations of FP10 were brought forward. They are categorised in 5 themes:
- Forests as carbon sink and raw material supplier
- End of Life, Reuse, Recyclability, environmental issues
- Digital transformation of the forest-to-building chain
- Innovative materials, products, building systems
- Open innovation, co-creation, policy advocacy
