Final Policy Recommendations & Research Needs by BASAJAUN
The BASAJAUN project focussed on sustainable wood construction for rural development and urban transformation, which was showcased in an entirely new demonstrator building designed and erected in Southern France.
Five principal recommendations for the Horizon Europe Work Programme 2025 and the preparations of FP10 have been elaborated, categorised in 5 themes:
- Forests as carbon sink and raw material supplier
- End of Life, Reuse, Recyclability, environmental issues
- Digital transformation of the forest-to-building chain
- Innovative materials, products, building systems
- Open innovation, co-creation, policy advocacy

About Basajaun
The BASAJAUN project was implemented from 2019 to 2027 by a consortium of 31 organizations in 12 countries, with a total budget of €12 million financed by the European Commission, under the coordination of Tecnalia in Spain.
