Rosewood4.0 project harnesses digital solutions and knowledge transfer along the forest value chain to reinforce the sustainability of forest resilience and wood mobilisation in Europe. The final event was hosted in Barcelona from 14-15 June by the European Forest Institute (EFI) and the Steinbeis Innovation Zentrum.
The Wood4Bauhaus Alliance was highlighted in a presentation given by InnovaWood, pointing out the role of wood construction as a key driver for a growing demand on sustainable forest management in the future. Biomaterials such as wood are expected to play a decisive role in the decarbonisation of the building sector.
To enhance knowledge transfer across European regions, the project has launched an open platform of best practices and innovations in forestry digitalisation and industry4.0. It contains a collection of over 250 factsheets about a range of different types of digital solutions:
- Uwe Kies, InnovaWood. Knowledge Platform for Regional Forest Innovation.
- Uwe Kies et al. 2022. Best practices and digital innovations for sustainable wood mobilisation: full collection of 100 factsheets. Rosewood 4.0 report D1.5.
